Overwatch: Best Heroes Tier List

The latest Overwatch season dropped in February, but the earlier Season 20 patch still determines much of the changes in meta, with Vendetta, D.Va, and Doomfist all having caught some sort of nerf to their kits. Others gained buffs, such as the case for Zenyatta and Genji, who gained 30% Discord Orb amplification and six extra shuriken per magazine, respectively.

Sigma remains the safest tank hero in the Overwatch 2 tank tier list with Kinetic Grasp that absorbs damage and heals using projectiles, and Gravity Flux has a huge kill potential.

Zarya, a dominant tank in Overwatch 2, punishes uncoordinated teams with her ability to erase enemy health in an instant at high energy, Graviton Surge combos that are still the most reliable team-wipe setup in ranked play.

Domina is a new Overwatch 2 tank that performs well with crowd control and survivability, fitting well in aggressive comps.

Tracer, a top damage hero in Overwatch 2, thrives in fights where flank routes and fast rotations are key, and she has a win rate of over 50% to back this up.

Vendetta got hit with mid-season nerfs, but her lifesteal and playstyle still make her the best DPS with the highest win rate in the game and an effective punish for certain teams.

Sojourn makes use of a killer railgun headshot with a strong repositioning game, which makes her the go-to hitscan damage hero, supported by self-sufficient mobility.

Kiriko is a support hero offering cleanse, survivability, and killing potential. Protection Suzu can counter half of all Ultimates, and Kitsune Rush enhances pushes.

Lucio controls the pace of every fight with Speed Boost, which enables aggressive dives and rotations, and one of the strongest defensive Ultimates in Sound Barrier.

Illari's Solar Rifle got buffed with a high min and max damage stat, letting her close out kills well in the current Overwatch 2 meta.

Some were S-Tier best characters who received nerfs like D.Va, whose Extended Boosters lost half of its bonus damage, though Defense Matrix still holds.

Others secured buffs but still lag behind S-Tier consistency, like Roadhog with buffs to Whole Hog damage and a hook that is still one of the best pick tools in-game. Genji also got a boost with six more shuriken per magazine to go with his still potent Dragonblade.

Ana is still the highest-impact support for coordinated play with Biotic Grenade that disables heals and Nano-Boost that enhances any of the DPS heroes in Overwatch 2. The rest of the A-Tier heroes are the same; they all work very well, but lack the consistency for most matches.

These B-tier Overwatch characters are too vulnerable to counter-picks or just lacking. Reinhardt is still dominant, but only in tight spaces. Doomfist lost his indefinite empowered punch, losing his best flanking tool. Bastion and Widowmaker both require a high level of support to function properly.

Baptiste, Mercy, Zenyatta, and Brigitte all have the same B-Tier problem. And if you'd rather skip the game's grind, consider securing an Overwatch account with a stacked roster on igitems.

C-tier tanks in Overwatch 2 like Wrecking Ball and Ramattra are too risky compared to others like Sigma and Zarya, who just work. These C-tier damage characters struggle in the current meta: Pharah is too weak against hitscan heroes, while Sombra is a backline disruptor who struggles to secure solo kills.

The rest of these lower-tier effective characters in this character tier list are more of the same. Moira downright lacks utility despite an Ultimate cost reduction, and Lifeweaver's output leaves too much to be desired. These Overwatch 2 DPS depend too much on exceptional team support just to start functioning.
